The Range Rover Evoque’s first version, designated L538, was manufactured from 2011 to 2018. It was available in three and five-door configurations, with two-wheel and four-wheel drive. In addition to the traditional grass, gravel, snow, and sand settings, the Terrain Response system now includes sport and eco modes. A prominent driving position, hill descent control, and useful approach and departure angles are typical Land Rover design features aimed at increasing off-road performance. The Evoque is built using a unibody rather than a body on the frame.
The second version of the Evoque, codenamed L551, began production in 2018 and is still ongoing. Land Rover’s new design language, introduced with the Velar in 2017, is used in this iteration of the Evoque. This incorporates retractable door handles, a smoother surface, and a new infotainment system with a second touchscreen and integrated climate control knobs.
A plug-in hybrid model (P300e) with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor on the rear axle was unveiled.
The 2017 Range Rover Evoque has a single engine option; a 2.0 L (Petrol) engine coupled to a 9-speed automated transmission.
