2017 BMW X5 Review
BMW is among the most sought-after SUV due to its adaptability, superb engine performance, and cutting-edge technology. Despite its huge dimensions, BMW marketed the X5 as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV) rather than an SUV to emphasize its on-road handling capability. While it has all of the benefits of a great car, it competes with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90.
Detailed Review
The BMW X5 made its début in 1999 under the model designation E53. It had all-wheel drive and could be had with either a manual or automatic transmission. It was created soon after BMW Group acquired the British off-road vehicle company, Land Rover. The second generation codenamed E70, was released in 2006. It was equipped with a torque-split capable xDrive all-wheel drive system linked to an automatic transmission. It included significant enhancements such as BMW’s iDrive system as standard across all variants and an optional third row of seats for improved seven-passenger capacity. The F15, which debuted in 2013, was the third generation of the X5. It used the same chassis and wheelbase as the E70 and offered three engine options. The G05 X5 is the fourth (and current) generation of the X5. It was unveiled to the public in 2018. It is built on the BMW Group’s innovative Cluster Architecture (CLAR) chassis.
The 2017 BMW X5 comes with an option of four engines; 3.0 L (petrol), 3.0 L (diesel), 4.4 L (petrol), and 2.0 L (hybrid) whose transmission is 8-speed automatic.

Stability And Handling
The 2017 BMW X5’s handling and stability excellence is well established in automotive folklore. It has become synonymous with perfection thanks to superb German engineering. The X5 accelerates rapidly and provides power evenly at all speeds. There is no body roll at corners, and the car grips the road tightly.
The steering wheel on the 2017 BMW X5 is a rack-pinion type, which makes it extremely sensitive when navigating curves, driving in traffic, or when parking. The front wheels have a double wishbone suspension, while the rear wheels have a multi-link suspension, which helps to absorb road imperfections when traveling off-road.
This SUV is equipped with anti-lock braking systems (ABS), which help the driver steer in emergencies by regaining tire traction. It also incorporates Electronic Traction Control, which reduces engine power and applies brakes to individual wheels as needed to prevent wheelspin.
Reliability
The 2017 BMW X5 is a dependable SUV with an excellent reputation for durability and longevity.
It has a high ground clearance, allowing it to go off-road (not in extreme terrain).
However, like any car, it is not without flaws, and a few have been noted by owners. Fuel pump failures, cooling system failures, and some stereo system issues are some of the common problems experienced in this SUV.
