The first-generation Mazda-based Ranger was produced from 1998 to 2006, while the second generation was produced from 2006 to 2011. The T6 variant first appeared in 2011 and has been in production ever since. It was designed by Ford Australia and is based on the Mazda BT-50 platform.

The 2017 Ford Ranger comes with two engine options; a 2.2 L (Diesel) and a 3.2 L (Diesel) which are coupled to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.

1. XL 2.2 (4×2)- This entry grade comes with an engine immobilizer, cruise control, power steering, rear window demister, and AUX/USB input socket.

Interior

Legroom & Space

The interior of the 2017 Ford Ranger is straightforward and functional. The front row of the double cabin provides lots of headroom and legroom, as well as reclining seats for a comfortable posture. The second row of the double cabin has plenty of knee and foot room.

The front row of the single cabin provides ample head and legroom, although the seats do not recline.

The front row of the super cab is very spacious with reclining seats. It also has a second row of seats with limited legroom, knee room, and headroom. It is not meant to ferry people, especially in a long-distance drive.

Cabin Storage

The 2017 Ford Ranger features several compartment storages that could be used to store or keep items of the passengers in the cabin.

The front row of the single cabin incorporates a glovebox, door pockets,  and two cupholders. The front row of the super cab encompasses a center console, two cupholders, a glovebox, and door pockets. The small second row is fitted with door pockets, and there is some additional deep compartment under the seats.

Exterior

The 2017 Ford Ranger features a bold and robust stance which exhibits its ability to conquer any terrain. The front end has a sculpted bonnet and a large grille with the authoritative Ford emblem. The headlamps give the vehicle a dynamic appearance.

The side steps on the double and super cabs make it easier for passengers to board and exit the vehicle. Taillights and turn signals are installed in the rear. A big tailgate and a tow bar are also featured.

Stability And Handling

The 2017 Ford Ranger provides a satisfying driving experience. The steering wheel is quite responsive to road curvature and is very effective when approaching tight curves at high speeds. Passengers in the cabin are adequately protected from noise and erratic motions caused by rough road surfaces.

The throttle system is up to the challenge since it allows the engine and transmission system to work together to provide a smooth start and good acceleration.

Rollover mitigation, traction control, hill descent control, and trailer sway control are also included in this pick-up, which improves its stability for easy handling.
