2017 Nissan Juke Review

The Nissan Juke is a subcompact crossover SUV that made its debut in 2010. Its presence on Kenyan roads has multiplied exponentially due to its excellent fuel economy, agile handling, and affordability. The name "Juke" means "to dance or change direction, demonstrating agility" and is also derived from the word "jukebox". Its exterior design attracts admiration and criticism in equal measure. It competes with the Honda Vezel, Mitsubishi RVR, Subaru XV, and Nissan Dualis.

Interior

Legroom & Space

The interior of the 2017 Nissan Juke is simple and plain, but somehow appealing. There is plenty of legroom and headroom in the first row, and the seats can be reclined to suit your preferred posture. There is plenty of knee room in the second row. Taller passengers may feel a bit cramped as the sloping roofline limits headroom.

Boot Space

The 2017 Nissan Juke has a sizeable cargo area that can accommodate small and medium-sized luggage. If more space is needed, the rear seats can be retracted.

Exterior

The 2017 Nissan Juke has a sporty look that exudes elegance and class. The front end features a new signature V-shaped grille with the Nissan logo to assert its presence. Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights add a modern touch. The sloping hood is enhanced by sweeping lines.

The side profile is characterized by a high waistline and large wheel arches. The contours are not very striking, but they are noticeable. One thing that makes it even more peculiar is the position of the rear door handles. The rear end has a lip spoiler attached to a sloping roofline, giving it a very sporty look and improving aerodynamics. Tail lights and turn signals are also prominent. Higher trim levels come with a sunroof, which allows more natural light into the car.

Stability And Handling

The 2017 Nissan Juke has a very good handling. The steering wheel responds well to road curvature, which is particularly useful when overtaking on the highway or maneuvering in tight spaces. Its composure on tight bends is excellent, with minimal or no body roll. The suspension system cushions the occupants from unstable movements caused by rough road surfaces.

The 1.5-litre feels slightly underpowered, especially when coming off the line, but once it gets up to speed it handles well. The 1.6 turbo, on the other hand, accelerates well and its power delivery is well-balanced across the rev range.

Electronic brake force distribution and traction control are fitted to this car to improve stability.

Reliability

The 2017 Nissan Juke is a reliable car. Its ground clearance allows it to be driven in moderate off-road terrain. However, like any other car, it is not without its faults. Transmission problems are the most common complaint from Juke owners. Regular service and maintenance are required to avoid such problems and to maximize the car’s potential.

Refer to the Nissan Juke buyer guide for a thorough reliability report. We also urge that you always follow the instructions in the owner’s manual.
