The first generation of the Nissan X-Trail codenamed T30, went into production in 2000 and lasted until 2007. The second generation X-Trail, codenamed T31, began production in 2007 and continued until 2013. The third generation of the X-Trail codenamed T32, began production in 2013 and continued until 2021. It ditched the boxy SUV look in favor of an urban crossover look and softer lines inspired by the Hi-Cross Concept. The Nissan X-Trail is currently in its fourth generation, designated the T33.

The 2017 Nissan X-Trail comes with eight engine options, a 1.3-liter HR13DDT (Petrol), 1.6-litre MR16DDT (Petrol), 2.0-litre MR20DD (Petrol), 2.5-litre QR25DE (Petrol), 2.0-litre MR20DD (Hybrid), 1.6-litre R9M (Diesel), 1.7-litre R9N (Diesel) and a 2.0-liter M9R (Diesel) linked to a 6-speed manual, CVT and 7-speed DCT. The 2017 Nissan X-Trail boasts a stunning cabin with either five or seven seats, depending on the trim level. The first row offers plenty of legroom and headroom, and the seats can be reclined to suit any position. The second row is also impressive with plenty of headroom and legroom. The 2017 Nissan X-Trail has an imposing and stylish appearance. The front end features a V-shaped grille with some chrome accents, and the famous Nissan logo affixed to it which helps it to stamp its authority. LED daytime running lights and headlights give it a modern look. The lower fascia features a restyled bumper with rectangular fog lights and air vents, giving the car some aerodynamic cues.

The side profile features sweeping lines that are not too flashy. A chrome line running from the A-pillar to the C-pillar frames the windows, adding to the car’s allure. Roof rails and a panoramic sunroof add a touch of elegance and luxury to the car.
