Detailed Review

2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport side and front view

The Land Rover Discovery Sport was released to the public in 2014 and is still in production today. It succeeded the Freelander in a redesigned Land Rover lineup, with Discovery joining Range Rover as a sub-brand. Although the Freelander model series had been a successful means for Land Rover to enter the medium SUV market, the firm thought that the Freelander brand was tainted with memories of unreliability and that the Discovery brand was more satisfactory.

The pre-facelift Discovery Sport is built on the JLR D8/LR-MS platform, which is also utilized in the Jaguar E-pace and the L551 version of the Range Rover Evoque. The Land Rover Discovery Sport received a facelift in 2019 that was built on an all-new Jaguar Land Rover Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA) chassis.

The 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport is available in a single engine; a 2.0 L (Petrol) mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The optional third row of seats is designed especially for children because adults will find it exceedingly tight due to limited headroom and legroom.
