2018 Nissan Skyline Review

The Nissan Skyline has been widely embraced in the Kenyan market largely because of its sleek exterior design, efficacy, and reliability. What is unique about the Skyline is that one of its available powertrains is based on a Mercedes Benz engine. As much as it adorns the trappings of an exceptional car, it competes with the likes of the Toyota Crown, Nissan Fuga, Lexus GS, Mercedes C Class, and BMW 3 Series.

In a major departure from previous generations, the V37 Skyline is only available as a 4-door saloon. The 2018 Nissan Skyline comes with three engine options, a 2.0-litre Mercedes Benz M2274 (petrol), a 3.0-litre VR30DDTT (petrol), and a 3.5-litre VQ35HR (hybrid) mated to either a 7-speed automatic transmission or Intelligent Dual Clutch Control.

Exterior

The 2018 Nissan Skyline embodies grandeur. A finely carved grille with the Infiniti badge rather than the Nissan insignia distinguishes the front end. LED daytime running lights and headlights modernize the vehicle. The lower fascia incorporates fog lights and air vents. A lip spoiler at the bottom of the front bumper enhances aerodynamics whilst emphasizing the Skyline’s sportiness.

Sweeping lines and curves define the side profile. The Skyline name is written in chrome on the rear boot. Tail lights and turn signals are prominently shown. A diffuser and two exhaust pipes can be found on the rear bumper.

By cushioning passengers from rapid movements produced by uneven surfaces, the suspension system provides an exhilarating ride. The cabin is well-insulated, so no outside noise can get in.

The engine and transmission system work in tandem to provide a smooth start and good acceleration. To improve stability, this vehicle incorporates anti-lock brakes and cruise control.

Reliability

The 2018 Nissan Skyline is regarded as a reliable vehicle. Off-road driving is not recommended since the Skyline’s body components may be damaged due to its low ground clearance. Transmission problems are the most frequently reported complaint among Skyline owners. To avoid such problems, regular servicing and maintenance are essential.

Refer to the Nissan Skyline buyer guide for a thorough reliability report. We also urge that you always follow the instructions in the owner’s manual.
