2018 Toyota Mark X Review

Toyota Mark X is a midsize automobile produced and marketed by Toyota. The "Mark X" is pronounced "Mark Ex" rather than "Mark Ten," but the "Mark II" is pronounced "Mark Two." The Mark X advances on the preceding Mark II and its siblings. Because of its sporty design, engine performance, and dependability, the Mark X has created a formidable presence in the Kenyan market. It competes with the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz C200, BMW 320i, Nissan Fuga, Audi A4, and Subaru Legacy.

Detailed Review

2018 Toyota Mark X front and side view

The first Toyota Mark X, codenamed X120, debuted in 2004 and was manufactured until 2008. It was intended to succeed the Mark II saloon, which had been on the market since 1968.

The Toyota Mark X’s second generation, known as the X130, launched its production in 2009 and lasted until 2019. The omission of the exhaust outlet diffuser, a 6-speed automatic transmission for 4WD vehicles, and a return to the hinge design trunk rather than lift support were all changes from the previous version.

The Mark X was given two facelifts in 2012 and 2016. To reinforce the body, more spot welding was added to the 2016 facelift. “Toyota Safety Sense,” which incorporates autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, automatic high lights, and radar cruise control, is now standard on all vehicles.

The 2018 Toyota Mark X comes with four engine options: a 2.5 L 4GR-FSE V6 (Petrol), a 2.5 L 5GR-FE V6 (Petrol), a 3.0 L 3GR-FE V6 (Petrol), and a 3.5 L 2GR-FSE V6 (Petrol), all paired to a 6-speed (GRMN) manual and 6-speed automated transmission.
