2018 Toyota Probox Review

Toyota Probox is a 5-door passenger automobile manufactured by Toyota in Japan. It took the place of the Corolla/Sprinter van and was a little shorter variant of the now-defunct Toyota Succeed. This car gained a lot of momentum on Kenyan roads right away because of its versatility and was primarily used for commercial purposes by farmers, business people, and transport operators. It is a competitor to the Nissan AD Van and the Toyota Succeed.

The first generation Toyota Probox, designated XP50/XP160, went into production in 2002. Probox received a facelift in 2014, which included the addition of a 1NR-FE engine to power it.  In Japan, the Mazda Familia Van was a rebadged version of the Probox.

The 2018 Toyota Probox is available with five engine options; a 1.3 L 1NR-FE 14 (Petrol), a 1.3 L 2NZFE 14 (Petrol), a 1.5 L 1NZ-FE 14 (Petrol), a 1.5 L 1NZ-FXE 12 (Hybrid), and a 1.4 L 1ND-TV 14 (Diesel), each mated to a 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission. Interior

Legroom & Space

The interior of the 2018 Toyota Probox was designed with functionality and simplicity in mind. The dashboard has a simple design with easily accessible instruments and controls.

There is plenty of legroom and headroom in the first row, and the seats can be manually adjusted to meet a desired position. The second row is somewhat unpleasant due to its flat bench seat, although it does have lots of headroom and some space for the knees.

Cabin Storage

The 2018 Toyota Probox incorporates four cupholders, an open glove box compartment, and door pockets in the first row. The second row has only door pockets.

Boot Space

The 2018 Toyota Probox offers a spacious and well-utilized cargo area thanks to its box-shaped design and flat load floor. Its boot size can be increased by folding the second row of seats.

Exterior

The 2018 Toyota Probox, as the name implies, is a boxy car with straight edges.

The front end features halogen headlamps and a Toyota symbol positioned on the grille, which is not very appealing to the eye because it is primarily intended for commercial use and so does not prioritize aesthetics. Its side profile features a long wheelbase which results in a roomy interior and ample cargo area. The rear has a manual tailgate, as well as tail lamps and turn signals. Depending on the owner’s preference, roof rails can be added to the Probox to enhance its look.
