Detailed Review

The first generation Mazda-based Ranger was produced from 1998 to 2006, and the second model was produced from 2006 to 2011. The T6 model was released in 2011 and has been in production ever since. It was designed by Ford Australia and is built on the Mazda BT-50 chassis.

2019 Ford Ranger Grades

1. XL 2.2 HI- RIDER (4×2)- This entry grade comes with an engine immobilizer, cruise control, power steering, rear window demister, and AUX/USB input socket.
2. XL 2.2 LOW RIDER (4×2)- This grade boasts Bluetooth connectivity, carpet floor covering, limited slip differential, and parking distance control front.

Interior

Legroom & Space

The interior of the 2019 Ford Ranger is straightforward and utilitarian.

The front row of the double cabin provides lots of headroom and legroom, as well as reclining seats for a comfortable posture. The second row of the double cabin has ample knee and foot room.

The front row of the single cabin has ample head and legroom despite the fact that the seats do not recline.

The front row of the super cab is fairly spacious, with reclining seats. A small second row with limited legroom, knee room, and headroom is also available. It is not designed to transport people, particularly over long distances.

Cabin Storage

The 2019 Ford Ranger offers multi-compartment closets that can be used to store or keep items belonging to passengers in the cabin.

The front row of the single cabin contains a glovebox, door pockets, and two cupholders. The front row of the super cab features a center console, two cupholders, a glovebox, and door pockets. The second row, which is very small, has door pockets, and there is an additional deep compartment beneath the seats.

Boot Space

The load bed of the 2019 Ford Ranger measures 1,549mm long by 1,560mm broad, and the 511mm high side walls help to secure goods.

Exterior

The 2019 Ford Ranger features a bold and sleek front-end design that complements its massive size.

The front end features a wide grille with the Ford badge, giving it a commanding presence. The headlights are well-positioned and contribute to the dynamic appearance.

The side steps on the double and super cabs make it easier to board and depart the vehicle. Taillights and turn signals can be seen in the rear. A big tailgate and a tow bar are also included.

Depending on the owner’s preferences, a bull bar and a winch can be added.

Body components are a little pricey and sometimes difficult to find for they are not available in major towns.

Stability And Handling

The 2019 Ford Ranger provides an enjoyable driving experience.

The steering wheel reacts adequately to road curvature and comes in handy when approaching tight curves at fast speeds. Passengers in the cabin are adequately sheltered from road noise and unexpected vibrations.

The braking system is up to the challenge, as it can bring this large pick-up to a halt in a matter of seconds, regardless of speed.

The Ranger performs comparably well off-road. Despite its large frame, the Ford feels agile off-road thanks to an excellent 4WD system (2Hi, 4Hi, and 4Low) that works in unison with electronic stability control and traction control.

Reliability

The 2019 Ford Ranger is a sturdy pickup truck. However, like any other vehicle, is not without flaws. A number of owners have reported powertrain issues. To avoid such problems, regular servicing and maintenance are essential. On the brighter side, it has a good ground clearance which enables it to tackle off-road terrain effortlessly without risking damaging body components.

Conclusion

The 2019 Ford Ranger is resilient, solid, and has great towing power, in addition to its off-road capabilities. However, while it is an excellent pick-up to own, it is not only expensive for those on a limited budget, but spare parts are difficult to come by.
