The first generation Mercedes-Benz GLC, codenamed X253/C253, was introduced in 2015. It had a five-door body with seating for five passengers.  Mercedes also produced a GLC Coupé with a tilted back roof.

In 2019, Mercedes-Benz unveiled a revamped GLC as a 2020 model. It boasted new features such as an improved MBUX system that you can activate by saying “Hey Mercedes,” new engines, and a new steering wheel.

Daimler tested a fleet of “GLC F-CELL” fuel cell-powered GLC vehicles, which entered into production in 2018. It has fuel cells as well as a battery drive that can be charged externally. It runs on both pure hydrogen and electricity.

The second generation GLC, codenamed X254/C254, was introduced in 2022. Like the first generation, there are two body styles available: a standard SUV and a coupe SUV called the GLC Coupé. It is larger than its predecessor. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC is available with three engine options: a 2.0 L (petrol), a 2.0 L (hybrid), and a 3.0 L (Petrol) engine linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Interior

Legroom & Space

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC is a five-seat midsize SUV with an extraordinarily stunning interior.

The front row is quite comfortable because there is lots of legroom and headroom, and the seats can recline to a desired position.

Passengers in the second row may not be as comfortable in this car as those in the first row. Because of the sloppy roofline, headroom is rather limited, especially for taller passengers, and longer rides in this automobile could be exhausting.

Conclusion

The small utility vehicle market has become extremely competitive as the fastest-growing segment in the premium class. Mercedes has excellent competition in the GLC as an early adopter in the premium SUV industry. Luxury crossovers must provide practical capabilities such as luggage and passenger space, dependability, high-tech features, as well as comfort and great interior quality of the controls that customers interact with. The GLC delivers on all of these fronts.
