Detailed Review
The first Toyota Mark X, codenamed X120, was introduced in 2004 and was produced until 2008. It was designed to be the replacement for the Mark II saloon, which had been on the market since 1968.
The second version of the Toyota Mark X, known as the X130, went into production in 2009 and lasted until 2019. Changes from the previous generation included the removal of the exhaust outlet diffuser, a 6-speed automatic transmission for 4WD vehicles, and a return to the hinge design trunk rather than lift support.
In 2012 and 2016, the Mark X received two facelifts. More spot welding was added to the 2016 facelift to reinforce the body. All vehicles now come equipped with “Toyota Safety Sense,” which includes autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, automatic high lights, and radar cruise control.
The 2019 Toyota Mark X is available with four engine options: a 2.5 L 4GR-FSE V6 (Petrol), a 2.5 L 5GR-FE V6 (Petrol), a 3.0 L 3GR-FE V6 (Petrol), and a 3.5 L 2GR-FSE V6 (Petrol), all of which are connected to a 6-speed (GRMN) manual or 6-speed automated transmission.
