2013 Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Review

The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis is a 5 seater medium sized family car that was in production from 2007 to 2015. It’s offered in saloon and hatchback body types and targets family people and racing enthusiasts. It competes with the Toyota Premio, Toyota Allion, Nissan Sylphy, Subaru Impreza, Mazda Axela, VW Golf and Audi A4.

The 2013 Galant Fortis is offered with 2 engine options; a 1.8 Litre 4J10 SOHC MIVEC petrol engine and a 2.0 Litre 4B11 DOHC MIVEC Intercooler Turbo engine. These are linked to either a 6-Speed INVECS-III CVT transmission or a 6-Speed Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission(Twin Clutch SST) and available in both 2WD and 4WD.

  1. Galant Fortis EXCEED – This is the base grade that comes in the saloon body type, 1.8L engine, 2WD/4WD, 16-Inch steel rims with plastic covers, Radio/CD player, manual AC, plain steering wheel, keystart and halogen headlights
  2. Galant Fortis SUPER EXCEED – This is the luxury grade that comes in the saloon body type, 1.8L engine, 2WD/4WD, 17-Inch alloy rims, DVD/CD touch screen player, automatic AC, multi-function steering wheel, smart start, xenon headlights and fog lights
  3. Galant Fortis SPORT – This is the luxury grade that comes in hatchback body type, 1.8L engine, 2WD/4WD, 18-Inch alloy rims, DVD/CD touch screen player, automatic AC, multi-function steering wheel, smart start, xenon headlights and fog lights.
  4. Galant Fortis RALLIART – This is a performance grade that comes in both the saloon and hatchback body types, 2.0L turbo engine, Twin Clutch SST, 4WD, vented bonnet, 18-Inch alloy rims, sports seats and RALLIART emblems.

Legroom & Space
The Galant Fortis is moderately spaced and comfortable. It’s a no frills car with a bias for plastic in the interior but other than that the car is perfectly functional. In terms of space, at the first row, there’s enough legroom for both driver and passenger. At the second, the legroom is decent and medium sized passengers will find it comfortable.

Cabin Storage
There are several storage compartments in the cabin that are useful for storing items such as smartphones, beverages, goggles, handbags etc. At the first row there are 4 cup-holders, door panel storage, a cubby box and glovebox. At the second row, there are 2 cupholders in the armrest compartment and storage pockets on the front seats.
