The X-Trail has been in production for 4 generations since 2001. It has become quite popular in the Kenyan market and it’s now one of the bestselling medium-sized SUVs. The first generation known as the T30 was in production from 2000 to 2007, the second generation known as the T31 was in production from 2007 to 2015 and the third generation known as the T32 has been in production from 2013 to 2020, and the fourth generation, which debuted in 2021.

The 2016 Nissan X-Trail comes with 7 engine options they are; 1.3 L HR13DDT I4 turbo, 1.6 L MR16DDT I4 turbo, 2.0 L MR20DD I4, 2.5 L QR25DE I4 all petrol, and 1.6 L R9M I4, 1.7 L R9N I4 2.0 L M9R I4 which are diesel.

Interior, Legroom & Space

The 2016 X-Trail has a premium interior with superior ergonomics and space. It boasts a big dashboard that houses entertainment and climate controls. Also in the dashboard is a 5-inch color touchscreen that displays Advanced Drive-Assist that gives the driver-vehicle information and safety system updates. The 2016 X-trail can seat 7 passengers comfortably. The first and second rows are spacious while the third row is moderately spaced and is ideal for children.

Cabin Storage

In the first row, it comes with 4 cup-holders, a storage shelf on the dashboard, a glove box, a center box, and door pockets. In the second row, there are 2 cup-holders in the armrest compartment, front seat pockets, and door pockets. In the third row, there are two cup holders on the wheel arch compartment.

Boot Space

In the 5-seater setup, the boot is humongous and can carry luggage enough for a family of five with room to spare. In the 7-seater setup, the boot is small and cannot carry any meaningful luggage.
