2013 Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Interior
Legroom & Space
The Galant Fortis is moderately spaced and comfortable. It’s a no frills car with a bias for plastic in the interior but other than that the car is perfectly functional. In terms of space, at the first row, there’s enough legroom for both driver and passenger. At the second, the legroom is decent and medium sized passengers will find it comfortable.

Cabin Storage
There are several storage compartments in the cabin that are useful for storing items such as smartphones, beverages, goggles, handbags etc. At the first row there are 4 cup-holders, door panel storage, a cubby box and glovebox. At the second row, there are 2 cupholders in the armrest compartment and storage pockets on the front seats.

2013 Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Boot Space
For the saloon, the boot is large enough to carry luggage for a family of five. The hatchback has a much bigger boot at 345 litres and additionally the rear seats can fold flat to create extra space when needed.

The Mitsubishi Galant Fortis has a ground clearance of 5.9 inches(150mm) which is below the minimum recommended ground clearance of 6.5 Inches for Kenyan roads and it may not clear some speed bumps. It might be necessary to modify the ground clearance to adjust the car to Kenyan roads. Read our guidelines here on how to safely increase a vehicle’s ground clearance.

2013 Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Stability and Handling
The Galant Fortis is an enjoyable car to drive and it feels well balanced and stable on the road. The suspension is on the stiff side and road bumps are more pronounced. The 2.0L RALLIART is a speedster that draws comparisons to the legendary Evo X and it actually borrows a lot of its technology from it. Though it doesn’t play in the same league, it’s equally an accelerative car that elicits a similar excitement.

2013 Mitsubishi Galant Fortis Reliability
The driving conditions in Kenya are significantly different from those in Japan and Europe. Reliability reviews done for those markets largely do not apply to the Kenyan market. There are differences in roads, fuel, climate, spares, and technical expertise. To give you accurate and reliable local insights, we interview experts such as mechanics and car dealers, who have in-depth knowledge of the Kenyan market. We also test the cars ourselves. Our aim is to give you the right information to enable you make an informed decision when buying a car.

Some people confuse the Galant Fortis with the Lancer that had a dodgy reliability record. The Galant Fortis is a solid car with a stellar reliability record that actually surpasses some of the Toyotas around. The 2.0L Turbo engine requires extra care but if properly maintained it’s as reliable.
