2015 Subaru Forester Review

The Subaru Forester is one of the most sought-after compact crossover SUVs in the Kenyan market. The forester, which is currently a station wagon, shares the same platform with the Impreza. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape in the car market.

Detailed Review

The Subaru Forester has been in production since 1997 and is currently in its fifth generation. The first generation lasted between 1997 and 2002, the second generation lasted between 2002 and 2008, and the third generation began in 2008 and ended in 2013. The fourth generation debuted in 2012 and lasted until 2018, the fifth-generation then began in the same year and runs to date.

Interior Legroom & Space

The 2015 Subaru Forester’s interior has enough visual appeal to compete with other crossovers, thanks to its diverse materials and accents. The Forester adheres to the simplicity of Subaru’s design philosophy.

Aside from three huge climate control dials and multimedia controls on the steering wheel, there is not much going on here unless the optional navigation system is included. Unfortunately, the touchscreen interface of this device is inferior to the finest of today in terms of both visuals and functionality. The headroom and legroom are generous and there is more space between the front passengers and the dashboard.

Cargo Space

The 2015 Forester boasts 34.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 74.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folding. In the higher trims, the cargo space behind the back seats is reduced to 31.5 cubic feet, but it remains at 68.5 cubic feet behind the front seats.

Safety Features

The 2015 Subaru forester comes with antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, a driver knee airbag, and a rearview camera. The Driver Assist Technology package offers lane departure warning, frontal collision warning, and a frontal collision prevention system with automated braking.

Exterior

The 2015 Forester is not significantly larger than the previous generation’s wagon, but the details have been updated for a more beautiful appearance that prioritizes outward visibility. Even the sculpted side metal and taillights are similar to the Subaru Impreza. However, the fenders are still moderately flared. The grille’s wings and headlamps are now narrower and slightly taller than before.
