Detailed Review

The Toyota Harrier has been in production for four generations starting from 1998 to present. For its first and second generations, it was almost exactly the same as the Lexus RX. From the third generation on, however, the Harrier is a separate brand that has nothing to do with the Lexus RX.

The 2016 Toyota Harrier comes with three engine options; the 2.0-Litre 3ZR-FAE petrol engine, a 8AR-FTS turbo I4 engine, and a 2.5-Litre 2AR-FXE petrol Hybrid engine.

Interior Legroom & Space

The 2016 Harrier is plusher and comfier than other Toyotas. Doors and the center armrest are upholstered in supple leather, as are the door panels and the center armrest.

It is also quite technologically advanced for a Toyota, which contributes to its smugness. Touch-sensitive surfaces replace typical tactile buttons on the center console. The infotainment system is also fairly straightforward and user-friendly, navigation aside.

Cabin Storage
There are several storage compartments in the cabin that are useful for storing items such as smartphones, beverages, goggles, handbags, etc. In the first row, there are 4 cup-holders, door panel storage, a glovebox, and the center box. In the second row, there are 4 cup holders and front seat jacket pockets.

Boot Space

The 2016 Harrier offers a sizable cargo space for holding small to medium luggage. The space increases further when the rear seats are folded.

Exterior

The 2016 Harrier boasts a powerful and formidable SUV exterior. The front facade is particularly distinctive, with a sharper snout and a grille with a lower angle. The rest of the SUV’s muscular body is characterized by flowing lines, and we must admit that it is a very attractive vehicle.

In addition, there are auto LED headlights with cornering lamps, distinctive vertical daytime running lights, sequential turn signals, and an adaptive high-beam system, which are all quite good for a vehicle in this class.

Safety Features

Standard safety features in the Toyota Harrier include an anti-lock braking system, child safety locks, side airbag, driver airbag, passenger airbag, brake assist, vehicle stability control system, parking sensor, crash sensor, traction control, and front impact beams.
